Cream and Punishment

Release Date: Spring 2025

Subgenre(s): Contemporary, Comedy

Trope: Enemies to Lovers

You’d think as a baker, Dekker Piper, would be able to avoid burning things. Apparently, that doesn’t apply to her personal life, which just went up in flames. Moving next-door to him is just the icing on the burnt-life cake.

Max Fuentes. Hunky. Charming. Hates her guts.

Yeah, him. Dekker now shares a wall with the man's whose life she ruined. And if that wasn’t punishment enough, she can’t seem to avoid him. It’s only a matter of time before he exacts his revenge, and the suspense is killing her.

When a break-in happens at her bakery, he offers to help. Obviously, this is the perfect opportunity to get close and drive the knife into her back like she deserves. But as they spend more time together and he passes on every chance to humiliate her—and she’s given him plenty—she wonders whether she’s misjudged him. And if that’s the case, can the sparks between them possibly lead to something more, or will she crash and burn yet again?

Cream and Punishment is a feel-good romantic comedy that brings all the swoony, sizzling chemistry while keeping the bedroom door closed. It is the first in the Smitten in the Mitten series of interconnected standalone novels.

Brianne Córdova

Brianne Ritchie Córdova has been an avid reader her whole life, and an avid daydreamer for most of it. What started as a “quarantine hobby” soon became her life as she rekindled her childhood zest for writing. She has since completed eleven novels across four different genres.

She grew up in southwest Michigan, but moved across the country to earn her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Brigham Young University. Before her writing debut, she worked with kids on the autism spectrum using applied behavior analysis. She now lives in Utah with her husband and two daughters, and enjoys binge reading, soccer, and critiquing cheesy films aloud to her captive audience of barely-alive houseplants.

Married to a sweetheart of her own, she’s a sucker for romance. The swoony, make-you-giddy, healthy kind of love is her favorite.
